Money has many powers. One of them is to make you itchy.
We feel uncomfortably itchy if it is not with us. On the other hand, we will feel restlessly itchy if we have certain amount of it (you know what I mean).
After working busier than a bee for a year, Mr.YL was inspired with 4 months bonus. This significantly showed sudden boom in his saving account. Then he felt the itchiness. He started looking around with owl’s eyes for “SALES” signs, and questioning himself again and again what else he needs. Bought couple of things. Dined out couple of times. Yet itchiness is still there.
“Fine”, he said himself, “I will ask Mrs. YL to think”, as he was running out of excuses to buy more things.
“Habibi (Honey in Arabic), don’t you think that we are missing something to have?", with vigilance tone that he asked Mrs. YL while watching TV.
Bang! (Speaking of the devil) There was an advertisement showing a very cute newborn baby. Yes, it started with a very cute baby (laughing – not crying) with daddy and mummy (not crying also) and ended up with SONY Camcorder (How on earth this lovely newborn baby and camcorder are related!).
“Ahhh Ha”, Mrs. YL got excited. “Wouldn’t it be nice to record our Little She’s movement and memorable things from the very beginning with that kind of camcorder, honey?”, she asked with very lovely face.
That exactly was not the one that he was expecting to buy. (D@#! They really are good at one of the 4Ps; promotion)
Paused for a while, then with indecisive tone, “Ummm may be?”, Mr. YL responded.
Sony’s advertisement had hit the bull's eye because Mrs. YL had already decided to go for it.
She decided to buy but he did all the research, reading, buying and carrying back home. Mrs. YL had very good reasons. “I cannot sit for long”. “It is not easy for me to walk for distance”. “Oh, Little She is moving a lot”. To cushion all her burdens, Mr. YL would do anything.
By then, on the very one fine day, after working hour, Mr. YL held his heavy wallet and marched to Sony and fulfilled his wife’s craving. Bought the one that they saw on the advertisement. Best lens, best functions, best brand, worst price though.
A significant amount was deducted from his account. Mr. YL suddenly got a glimpse of light on his mind. Flashing a smile on his face, he told his wife, “Happy Birthday in advance, Habibi. And here is my birthday present for you.”, when he gave her the Sony HD camcorder. (30.01.2008)
See, now he does not need to worry about spending one more time.
